Our client Corsair is a pioneering company in the field of high-performance PC components that was founded in 1994. They offer a complete range of products, including keyboards and mice, power supplies, memory, and, most recently, water cooling solutions. Don’t know what a water cooling solution is? Presenting their newest water cooling segment, Corsair needed an efficient way of optimizing and centralizing data while improving their online shopping experience, and, consequently, increasing sales.
Their ecosystem consists of a huge product database, so they needed a unified data model that holds all the important attributes:
For the backend product system, the client decided for the implemention of Pimcore.
With the implementation of Pimcore, we solved the client’s specific key requirements:
Optimized data storage Managing thousands of products (computer cases, mother boards, graphic cards, water cooling systems) with complex hierarchy and attributes was simplified with the use of Pimcore while having a single-source platform facilitated in accessing the needed information.
Seamless management of a large amount of correlated data Pimcore created correlated product content that is rich, current, complete, and accurate. It currently includes information about 246 cases, 930 motherboards, 188 CPUs, and 1249 graphic cards.
Advanced compatibility check With more than 20.116.841.142 (we’re talking billions!) combinations, Pimcore consistently checks for compatibility between products and automatically offers suitable water cooling solutions that amount to over 1.105.920 cooling system combinations.
With the implementation of Pimcore, we helped Corsair launch their newest water cooling segment. With a clearly structured system, we can implement constant updates with accurate data about inventory, prices, and translations, as well as up-to-date product catalog.
With an advanced use of the Pimcore platform, Corsair is offering an improved customer experience via features such as compatibility checks and automatically suggested solutions, which are also triggering an increase in sales.
In the future, the same Pimcore database will be utilized by Corsair resellers as an additional channel for sourcing information and consequently for reaching even more users.
Pimcore enabled us to establish an automated process which helped create an enormous database showcasing 5962 elements. The Pimcore-based configurator first saw the light of day in May 2019, and is accredited for over 32.000 configurations in the first 24 hours.
