Nina Zupančič

Digital Marketing Specialist

My story

Professionally, people know me as a translator, a teaching assistant at the Faculty of Education and now as a digital marketing specialist at Optiweb. Personally, I’m a sports enthusiast obsessed with any dessert that contains walnuts or poppy seeds. I’m always on the lookout for new challenges, which means that my days are always too short. You’ll never hear me say “I’m bored”. Still, there’s a place that offers an escape from the hustle and bustle of city life; a place where I can enjoy nature: Bohinj.

Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.

Fun facts

#1I’m slightly hyperactive so I have trouble staying still and doing nothing.
#2I would go crazy without yoga, running and mountains! :)

They asked me …

Why marketing?

I was introduced to the world of marketing in my student job. Even though I was entrusted with simpler tasks, I knew that I wanted to learn more about the field. Optiweb gave me my first real opportunity: they hired me despite my lack of experience and enabled me to be part of the world I had always been drawn to. The beginning is always difficult but what drives me are the constant novelties in online marketing and the possibilities of development that seem to be endless.

What’s your added value in the Marketing Department?

Considering our clients and our service, my background as an English major and “grammar Nazi” is extremely beneficial. Since I’m linguistically skilled, I have no trouble writing ads, offers and, of course, correspondence with our clients. I’m always happy to help as a translator as well because it gives me a chance to stay in touch with the English language.

What did you want to be when you were little?

Ever since I was a little girl, music has been my biggest passion. And even though my brother never failed to remind me that my singing could shatter glass, the desire to become a professional singer stayed with me. And though it seems that the dream will never come true (which I reconciled myself to), I still hold a glimmer of hope that someday, while singing karaoke in a random bar, a talent hunter will discover me. :D

Which colour describes you best?

Burgundy. No, not red, not brick red and not pale red. A third of the things I own is burgundy, including my car. I love the energy and the vitality of the colour. You can’t go wrong if you buy me a burgundy‑coloured present. :)
