Anida Rajapakse

Digital Advertising Team Lead

My story

Before joining Optiweb, I had mostly done academic marketing research and research project management, focusing on the areas of consumer behavior, neuromarketing, and digital marketing. After more than 5 years of doctoral research, teaching, and mentoring, I couldn’t be more determined and excited to join the marketing practice at full throttle. Exploring new ways to optimize and boost marketing performance has always been my passion. I hope to use my superpowers to bring our clients’ campaigns to the next level.

Live now. Make now always the most precious time. Now will never come again. (Captain Jean-Luc Picard)

What was your doctoral dissertation about?

I explored online consumer behavior through a consumer neuroscience perspective by looking at visual attention on the websites that carried marketing messages (goals) in the form of call-to-actions. The most interesting part of it all was that I got to learn how to use an eye-tracker and interpret eye tracking data, combined with in-depth interviews. Fun stuff!

What do you like to do in your free time?

I love reading, going to concerts, cooking and baking, small art crafts, photography, jogging, travelling, computer games…so many things, so little time! :)

What do you appreciate the most about Optiweb?

Friendliness, energy and enthusiasm of the people, ambition to do more and better and an everlasting focus on excelling, learning more and developing. And, of course, the amazing office views and always available coffee. :)

What is the best concert you have been to so far?

Metallica at Ernst Happel Stadion, Vienna in 2019. I had it on my bucket list for a long time and when I finally made it I think I had goosebumps from the first to the last minute.
