Harvey Norman
Complete Harvey Norman e-commerce overhaul
One platform, two completely different buying journeys — furniture, where design matters, and electronics, where price and speed decide the sale. Harvey Norman needed an online store that served both flawlessly, while consolidating a fragmented back office into one streamlined process. We designed the solution from the ground up — and today the client's team runs it themselves.

Project “Quick summary”

Harvey Norman is an international retail chain selling furniture, electronics and home appliances. In Slovenia it operates five stores (Ljubljana, Maribor, Celje, Novo mesto, Koper) and the online store harveynorman.si. What sets the brand apart is a unique combination of two very different product categories: furniture shoppers look for design and a hands-on feel for the product, while in electronics the deciding factors are price, specifications and speed of purchase. On the Slovenian market Harvey Norman has no direct competitor spanning this combination — but that very breadth of range means we could not settle for half-measures in either area. Each category demands its own, carefully crafted buying journey.

THE CHALLENGES IN CONCRETE TERMS
- Dated design and poor mobile experience: the site was not responsive, navigation was confusing, and the visual identity did not reflect the global brand.
- Fragmented product data: with no central PIM system, data lived in spreadsheets and disconnected tools — duplication, inconsistencies and time-consuming maintenance.
- Inefficient store and order management: not just orders — the entire online store was run in a fragmented way. Orders were routed to stores manually, with no single real-time overview.
- Weak system integration: the storefront, ERP and order system operated independently; every update required manual reconciliation.
Results
systems consolidated into one platform the client runs itself
years of continuous partnership and further development
critical checkout blockers eliminated
We designed the solution entirely from the ground up: consolidating categories, attributes and value sets, and reducing dependence on external vendors. That gave us a fast, responsive frontend and a robust backend that Harvey Norman now runs on its own.
